As part of our successful Catalyst application, the team were required to attend the Seed Fund Planning day. This was an excellent opportunity to learn important skills for the day to day running of projects as well as brain storm ideas with the all range of different projects!
Helen Featherstone, head of Catalyst – Exeter got the training day under way with an over view of how Catalyst aims to support public engagement within academic research. We were surprised by the shear diversity of projects that had been given funding. Everything from medieval law, medicine and the arts, though XRT was by far the largest represented project there.
During the day we covered use of the Press Office, reporting, Documenting and interacting with the public as well as addressing some of our hopes and worries about our projects.
Overall it was a very positive experience, with Helen and the Catalyst team being particularly engaging with our work.
